For those of you that don’t know, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is an unofficial VW show that takes over Ocean City MD once a year. It used to be just water cooled VWs, but has kind of turned into a stance-fest. Lots a Dapper, Legit, flat-brimmed hats, pop-off valves, and underage drinking.

A lot of the locals don’t like it because it brings a large number of young folks with questionable judgement to town for the weekend.

I’ve never been, I just see photos and video posted every year about it.

My next door neighbor has a place down there, and he goes down there for Corvette weekend, hot rod, old car and (along with me) bike week.

He came and asked me one day, "Hey, what's the deal with those car that (made a loud pop-off valve noise) make all that (makes noise again) noise? Man, those guys make one hell of a racket."

I was there two weeks ago and was talking to a few bartenders on a Sunday night which of these themed weekends they enjoyed. They all loved bike week, but hated H2O. I asked how the cars could be louder than thousands of Harleys, and they said, "It's not the noise, it's the attitude. A majority of these VW guys (I know it's more than that now, but that's what they called it) aren't old enough to drink, so they and most of the others do all their drinking at their hotel, so we don't make much money. They also drive like assholes and park wherever they hell they want. We have a lot of cars towed that weekend."

So I'm guessing it's an age thing.
